The Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) organized the "Chinese Bridge" Summer Camp for Brazilian students from June 28 to July 11 — hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education. Fourteen students from the Confucius Institute at the University of Pernambuco in Brazil, co-established by CUFE, participated in the event. People in charge of the International Cooperation Division of CUFE and the said Confucius Institute as well as CUFE faculty and student representatives joined in — experiencing the richness of Chinese culture and forging great friendships between China and Brazil.

Guo Feng, deputy director of CUFE's International Cooperation Division, and Gabriel Oliveira, a teacher from the University of Pernambuco, addressed the opening ceremony in CUFE's Academic Hall on June 29. Each expressed hopes that the camp will deepen mutual understanding of each other's languages and cultures, strengthening friendly ties. Dai Juncheng, vice dean of the School of Culture and Communication of CUFE, delivered a lecture titled "Trends in Chinese Cultural and Economic Development".

The summer camp included comprehensive Chinese language courses and cultural activities. Graduate students from CUFE's School of International Cultural Exchange, specializing in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, taught the language courses — significantly improving participants' practical Chinese skills. Participants explored Chinese culture and arts like calligraphy, music, traditional weaving and ethnic dance. The activities were guided by faculty and students from CUFE's School of Culture and Communication, School of Information, School of Foreign Studies and University Dance Troupe.

Field trips and cultural excursions were also a core part of the camp. Students visited the Center for Language Education and Cooperation to learn about international Chinese education achievements. They toured historical and cultural sites, including the Museum of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese Traditional Culture Museum, engaging in real-life language practice and cross-cultural exchanges.

At the closing ceremony, Peng Yuchao, director of CUFE's International Cooperation Division, encouraged participants to become ambassadors of China-Brazil friendship. Liu Liguang, Chinese director of the aforementioned Confucius Institute, urged them to continue learning Chinese and to act as cultural bridges between the two countries. Students from both countries shared that the camp brought them the vibrant charm of cultural integration, creating lasting memories and friendships. They expressed a desire to further contribute to China-Brazil exchanges and cooperation.
