On Jan 22, a delegation led by Yao Keping, senior governance and public administration officer at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), visited the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE). Peng Yuchao, director of CUFE’s International Cooperation Division, Jiang Ling, dean of the School of Government, and relevant representatives met with the delegation and held discussions.
Peng Yuchao noted that, as one of the first universities designated as a base for the Ministry of Education’s Innovation and Practice Program for the Cultivation of High-Level Internationalized Talent under the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange, CUFE has achieved tangible results in cultivating top innovative talents for international organizations and in recommending students for internships with international organizations. He expressed the university’s hope to further explore in-depth cooperation with UN DESA in various fields.
Yao Keping introduced the organizational structure and operational mechanisms of the United Nations. He praised CUFE’s achievements in cultivating talent for international organizations and expressed his expectation to deepen cooperation with the university in more areas.
Jiang Ling highlighted the progress and achievements of CUFE’s experimental programs for training talents for international organizations. She stated that the university will continue to strengthen its efforts in this area, further broaden students’ global perspectives, and enhance their global competence.
