On July 20, the China Valuation Forum (2026) was held in Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Guided by the China National Master of Valuation Educational Supervisory Committee and co-hosted by the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE) and Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics, the forum was themed "Asset Valuation for the 15th Five-Year Plan Period (2026-30): Digital and Intelligent Reshaping and Strategic Transformation". It brought together industry scholars and practical experts to discuss topics such as valuation of new quality productive forces, digital transformation, special-purpose appraisals, and talent cultivation, building a platform for industry-academia-research exchanges to help the sector adapt to new quality productive forces and achieve digital transformation.

In his address, Ma Haitao, vice chairman of the China National Master of Valuation Educational Supervisory Committee and president of CUFE, noted that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, intangible assets have become core production factors. Industry transformation must adhere to both upholding fundamental principles and pursuing innovation, strictly comply with practice standards, and maintain professional judgment. He stated that the university will continue to innovate its "five-trans" education model (trans-boundary, trans-university, trans-discipline, trans-school and trans-major), promote the integration of finance and economics with AI disciplines, collaborate with industry institutions to build practical platforms, construct an independent knowledge system for digital-intelligent asset valuation, and cultivate interdisciplinary talent. Xu Quanzhong, president of Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics, said in his address that the university will take this forum as an opportunity to continuously strengthen industry-academia-research collaboration, cultivate digital-intelligent valuation talent, and deepen research on region-specific valuation. The opening ceremony was chaired by Xu Bo, dean of the School of Public Finance and Taxation at Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics.
During the keynote speech session, 10 experts and scholars from relevant fields shared their findings on cutting-edge topics. CUFE Professor Li Xiaorong empirically analyzed the information value of asset appraisals to support capital market valuation regulation. Liu Dengqing, president of the China Enterprise Appraisals Consultation Co Ltd (CEA), outlined new business directions aligned with national strategies. Professor Wen Hao of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law clarified the boundaries and risks of AI application in valuation based on a survey of 200 institutions. Professor Yu Bingwen of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, and Wang Shenglong, chairman of Zhongquan Asset Appraisal (Beijing) Co Ltd, respectively proposed pathways for building industry databases and standardizing data asset appraisal. Wang Chengjun, chairman of China Valuer International (Beijing) Co Ltd, summarized approaches to handling constrained appraisal procedures. Professor Wang Jingsheng of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics explored the construction of a comprehensive independent disciplinary framework for asset appraisal. Professor Wang Haichun of Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics, based on the university's digital-intelligent teaching reforms, outlined a four-tier progressive curriculum using a "three upholdings and three advancements" approach, with school-enterprise collaboration to cultivate interdisciplinary appraisal talent suited to regional green industries. The keynote session was moderated by Tang Zhangqi, vice president of the China United Assets Appraisal Group, and An Jin, deputy dean of the School of Public Finance and Taxation at Inner Mongolia University of Finance and Economics.
The forum featured three parallel sub-forums focusing on multi-level discussions around topics such as "Valuation Practices and Regulatory Logic for M&A, Mineral, and Ecological Assets", "Digital Transformation Including AI Valuation, Data Asset Recognition, and Industry Digital Infrastructure", and "Digital Curriculum, Case Libraries, Practice Base Development, and Cultivation of Interdisciplinary Appraisal Talent".
At the closing ceremony, the outcomes of the sub-forums were summarized, and outstanding papers were announced. Participating experts reached a general consensus: to expand the valuation system for new types of assets based on new quality productive forces; to anchor appraisers' professional judgment while improving AI risk control mechanisms during digital transformation; to refine standards and rules for intelligent appraisal and data asset valuation; and to deepen multidisciplinary industry-academia-research integration to build a full-chain talent cultivation system.
This forum brought together academic and industry experts, facilitated exchanges across theory, practice, and education, and produced substantial outcomes regarding industry transformation during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, providing professional references for industry regulation, technological innovation, and disciplinary development.
