According to statistics from the National Development and Reform Commission, China signed 201 cooperation documents on joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) with 138 countries and 31 international organizations by November 2020. Yet, considering the accessibility of data and the convenience of the study, this report only takes the list of 64 BRI countries generally accepted by the academic community as the target of the study. The report centers on the factor structural characteristic index and technology structural characteristic index of China’s import and export trade with BRI countries from 2014 to 2019 (part of the data measured up to 2018), as well as the competitiveness index and complementarity index of economic and trade relations between China and these countries. At the same time, the achievements of China’s economic, trade, and investment cooperation in the fifth anniversary of the BRI were supported with data indicators in detail and rankings.
