On 1st September, more than 2500 freshmen came to CUFE.
Elaborately decorated, our Shahe campus was waiting for the freshmen of 2016 with a happy atmosphere everywhere in the morning.
The active volunteers at railway stations, subway stops and the campus were the first Cufers freshmen and their parents met when they came to register. This year, sophomores became the major force of the volunteering.
A freshman was taking a photo with her parents in front of the welcoming board, recording her excitement and pride at this glorious moment.
At the registration desk of each school, with the help of our enthusiastic teachers and volunteers, freshman completed the their check-in procedures, including document review, payment, quarantine of infectious disease and dormitory check-in. Some Freshmen from low-income family successfully applied for the green channel and received a big gift bag from school.
Today, leaders of CUFE including Fu shaolin, party secretary, Wang Guangqian, president, deputy party secretary Ni Haidong, Liangyong, Chenming , vice presidents Wang Yaoqi , Zhao Lifen and Zhu Lingyun, president assistant came to the campus , talking and took photos with freshmen and their parents. While visiting the freshmen dormitory, secretary Fu told parents: “Please leave your children to us and trust us”. He hoped that in the identity shift from a high school student to an undergraduate, each freshman should cherish the chance of studying in CUFE and develop themselves in both professional areas and mentality in the consecutive four years. And meanwhile CUFE would provide all kinds of resources for newcomers as much as possible. During president Wang’s visit, he expressed his good wishes to the freshman. At the School of International Trade and Economics, he was invited to write down his wish for the newcomers—Embrace the World. Since the development of China is closely connected with the world, he expected that elites from CUFE could develop an international vision in the future.
At 2:00 pm, Orientations were held in each school. From teachers’detailed presentations, parents learned more about the history, the status quo, the education program and the teaching plan of the schools their children will study in.
