From July 20 to 23, the national finals of the 6th National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers were held in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province. Associate Professor Tao Kunyu and her team from the School of Finance of the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE), representing the Beijing competition zone, won the second prize in the "New Liberal Arts" category for associate professors.

The contest, guided by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and hosted by the China Association of Higher Education, was themed "Promoting Teaching Innovation, Cultivating First-Class Talent". It featured nine competition tracks: Emerging Engineering, Emerging Medicine, Emerging Agriculture, New Liberal Arts, Foundational Courses, Curriculum Ideological and Political Education, Industry-Education Integration, Artificial Intelligence, and Experimental Teaching. A total of 699 faculty teams, comprising 2,694 teachers, advanced to the national final on-site evaluation round.

This award highlights CUFE's solid achievements in cultivating financial talent, and deepening finance and economics education reform. It also represents a significant milestone in CUFE's efforts to support the development of a financial powerhouse and a strong education nation, and to build an independent Chinese knowledge system in finance and economics. Moving forward, CUFE will leverage the contest as a model to drive excellence, focus on enhancing faculty teaching expertise, improve support platforms for teaching innovation, and continue to deepen education and teaching reforms, further consolidating its leading position in finance and economics education innovation.
