On March 6th, 2016, the CUFE library of Shahe Campus has been put into use after three years of efforts.

As an infrastructure contributing to cultural inheritance and innovation of CUFE, the library of Shahe Campus highlights the qualities of elegance, implicitness and rationality. Its design follows the philosophy of healthy development, ecological harmony, being human-oriented and thoughtful service. The library is 23.5 meters high, with a total area of 30, 501 square meters (or 3.05 hectares) and five floors on the ground and two under the ground.
It is designed to accommodate a collection of 1.7 million books and 3, 019 seats for reading. In order to facilitate teachers and students’ study and communication, the library can be not only used for book storage, borrowing and electronic reading, but also for academic activities. So it has a number of multimedia rooms, lecture halls, seminar rooms, exhibition halls and conference halls with 124 seminar, 126 audiovisual, 68 Café and 216 hall seats.
It is reported that the library is formally open to the teachers and students at 10 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. on the first day, attracting 3,469 visitors.
