The 12th world Sudoku Puzzle Championship Contest was held in Bangalore, India from 16 October to 18 October. 212 contestants from 35 countries and regions took part in the event. Wang Weifan from School of Information, as one of the representative of China， won the team championship and ranking No.25 in the individual contest.

The Chinese team was composed of two university students and two high school students, with the average age of 17. In the team contest, Wang Weifan and his teammates won the championship over teams of Japan, U.S., Czech, France and other competitive countries. It was the first time China championed the event.
