Central University of Finance and Economics 2021 Chinese Language Programs Application Guide

As one of China's key universities under the direct leadership of the Ministry of Education, Central University of Finance and Economics enjoys the patronage of both the central and municipal governments, including the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, and Beijing municipal government. In 2017, CUFE was selected into the Double First Class Initiative, a national project with the goal of fostering world standards in China's universities. The university is also listed in Project 211. In addition, CUFE is among the first universities to enter Project 985 Innovation Platform, whose objective is to promote scientific research of high-priority areas in the fields' top institutions. The university's applied economics is rated A+ and ranked No.1 by the Ministry of Education in the latest round of national academic evaluation in 2017.

CUFE is located in Beijing, the capital of China.

CUFE offers both long-term and short-term Chinese language programs to International students around the world. The program aims to improve students’ Chinese proficiency and communication skills, especially in a business setting.

The program incorporates language courses, Chinese culture workshops, culture visits, and activities centered on China’s economy. Long-term programs last one semester or above while short-term programs consist of two to four weeks.

Students are placed in elementary, intermediate, or advanced class according to their placement tests. Courses are designed respecting language acquisition principles with class size smaller than 15 people per class.

1. Procedure

  • Submit online application, go to http://sice.cufe.edu.cn and Click Online Application

  • Pay 500 RMB application fee (Scroll down for fee payment instructions)

2. Eligibility

  • Non-Chinese citizens with a high school certificate

  • Healthy individuals between the age of 18 and 45

  • Enrollment in CUFE’s health insurance plan is required for all students

3. List of documents required

  • Application form (available at the last step of online application)

  • A copy of highest degree diploma or a certificate stating your student status and expected graduation date

  • Official transcripts

  • A copy of passport
