The 2026 Capital Volunteer Service Project Competition held recently witnessed a rigorous selection process including initial evaluations and project presentations, with the "Cai Jing Yi Ke" boutique micro-classroom volunteer service project of theCentralUniversity of Finance and Economics (CUFE) standing out among 317 entries and winning the gold award.

The "Cai Jing Yi Ke" project addresses the need to enhance financial knowledge among the youth. It leverages the university's academic strengths and unique educational approach to transform professional resources into social momentum for supporting basic education. The project systematically builds a "three-tier progressive" financial literacy curriculum covering primary, middle, and high school levels, converting abstract financial concepts into practical skills that young people can perceive, engage with, and apply. It helps the youth develop the correct views on consumption, values and wealth, and enriches their moral character with values such as integrity, fairness and the rule of law, ultimately facilitating a harmonious blend of knowledge transfer, skill development, and value formation among them.

Themed "Volunteering for PrimeVirtue, Serving for New Achievements", this year's competition was jointly organized by the Social Work Department of theBeijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Education Working Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, and the Beijing Municipal Committee ofthe Communist Youth League of China and other departments. The competition had two main sections — social and university groups — covering 10 categories, including community governance, eldercare, and youth support.

The CUFE will use the gold award as a catalyst to further integrate "professionalism, volunteering, and ideological-political education", while focusing on nurturing and incubating high-quality volunteer service projects, and aiming to establish a distinctive finance-themed volunteer service brand matrix. Our goal is to elevate "Cai Jing Yi Ke" from a "local classroom" to a "national benchmark for youth financial literacy education volunteer services", guiding our young faculty and students to help meet the national strategic needs with their expertise and fulfill their responsibilities in the new era through volunteerism.
