With the coming of the beautiful season of autumn, the 70^thanniversary of CUFE is just around the corner. A big commemoration meeting will be held at the university on 19 October 2019, and we cordially invite distinguished guests from all circles and alumni from China and overseas to join us for the big celebration and for discussions about the future development of CUFE.

 Looking back, we are proud that we worked very hard and it has paid off. CUFE is rooted in the Chinese ground, commits to serve as a backbone for the economic and social development of the country, and has played a critical role in the recovery and development of the national economy following the founding of the People’s Republic of China, in the piloting and deepening of the Reform and Opening Up policy, and in the new efforts to build up Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. During the journey, Cufers have pioneered fearlessly, created and carried forward a great tradition, followed the same development path as that of the country, and pooled wisdom to serve the nation by building CUFE into a leading national research institution of finance and economics.

 As we enter into a new era, CUFE remains as committed to its original purpose as before, and adheres adamantly to the objective of cultivating talents for the party and for the country. It works hard to promote elite education strategies and cultivate top-level talents with practical skills for the building of a strong nation, thereby gaining the nickname “cradle of China’s economic and financial management professionals”.

 Looking ahead, we will move forward in the same way as depicted by the university logo “Dragon-horse Marching Fearlessly”. With all the past glories and new dreams, the university and all Cufers will start afresh, be guided by the university motto of “loyalty, unity, truth and innovation”, undertake the mission of promoting national rejuvenation by building a first-class university, carry forward the reform to a deeper level, and forge ahead towards the objective of building a “unique, multidisciplinary, and internationally recognized top-level research university”, with a view to creating more glories on the drive towards the Chinese Dream of the Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation.

 As the anniversary draws near, we all very much look forward to it. After the first and subsequently the second notices were given, our preparations for the celebration have received passionate attention and generous support from alumni and many distinguished people from all walks of life. We wish to express sincere gratitude and high respect to them all. On the dates around 19 October, some wonderful events will be organized by the university, including among others theaforementioned big commemoration meeting and a forum for Chinese and foreign university presidents. We cannot wait for the delight of welcoming distinguished guests and alumni to meet on the beautiful campus of CUFE to share each other’s feelings and discuss future development.
