Recently, our university has been qualified for recruiting overseas students supported by theConfucius Institute Scholarships under Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters. It is another qualification we have achieved, since we were supported bythe Government Scholarship for Overseas Students in 2005 andqualified for recruiting overseas students supported by the government scholarship in 2007.The Confucius Institute Scholarship was established to sponsor overseas students, scholars and Chinese teachers who study in China. In 2016, we will witness a first global recruitment to the Confucius Institute Scholarship winners. The recruits are allowed to study Chinese language in Chinafor oneacademic term and one academic year respectively according to their application.
The Confucius Institute Scholarships under Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters aims to support the development of the Confucius Institute, promote the popularization of Chinese language and Chinese cultural communication, as well as cultivatequalified Chinese language teachers and talents. Being qualified forrecruitingoverseas students under this scholarship manifests our great progress in improving educational quality internationally,facilitating the pluralistic cultivation of international talent and increasing our international reputation.
