On the morning of October 29, Maureen Weatherall, the vice provost of the Loyola Marymount University (LMU) and the other two scholars paid a visit to Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE). The delegation was welcomed by Wang Yaoqi, president of CUFE. Dr. Wang hoped that both sides could deepen collaboration in computer science, English language teaching, summer programs and other fields. Dr. Weatherall hoped that both sides could carry out substantial cooperation such as organizing mutual visit between teachers and students in two universities and undertaking academic research. They also discussed the “3+1+1” project, the summer short semester, scholar visiting, teacher education and other cooperative projects. Members of the delegation included Ying Qian Dianna Chen, the vice provost and adviser on China affairs, and S.W. Tina Choe, the dean of Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering.
